That's right - our very own CRG has migrated down to the Southern end of the state for the winter months. We miss her already!

Cross Nationals - race #2
We know, this is a week over-due......
In the Women's Division 1 Collegiate National Cyclocross race, held Sunday 12-14-09, EEK barely missed the podium and finished 7th. Racing for Sacramento State, where she is finishing up her Master's Degree in Biology, Emily reported the conditions improved and she actually felt like she could push herself without risking injury. Because the race occurred in-between the two biggest races of the weekend, the elite women and the elite men, the crowds were HUGE and the energy was amazing! She raced hard, finished strong and was happy with her 7th place finish - and she can't wait 'till cross-natz in 2010.

Cross Nationals - race #1
Emily - or EEK as we like to to call her - is in Oregon this weekend for Cross Nationals. Today she finished 25th amongst a who's-who of cyclocross women and was happy to stay upright after weaving her way through the first 200m of icy tarmac. In only her first season of cyclocross, this was also EEK's first time riding in the snow and ice - not bad for a rookie. We are so proud of her for even taking the risk; most of us would have opted to stay inside sipping hot cocoa instead of braving those kind of conditions. Pictures to come later.
We all know she is just warming up for the road season....

Counting down to 2010
People have been asking us if we're looking forward to the 2010 season. Yes, the entire team has a lot to anticipate in the new year. New products, new goals, and new adventures await us. What seems to be the most exciting aspect of our program for next season is our commitment to solid teamwork and keeping each other laughing along the way.

'Tis the Off Season
The off-season is a time for many things other than bike racing. Some of our riders like to keep up their fitness running trail races, some race cross, and other's indulge in long, easy rides.

SBB and CRG on the WGB ride
Either way, we still like to meet up and enjoy each other's company while also getting team business done. This month we hit Mt. Diablo together and spent some time discussing sponsor products, goals, races, the competition, and everything else in-between.

Mind Meets Bike
Our very own Kristin Keim is currently working towards her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology. In between riding and studying she somehow finds the time to contribute to Triple Crankset. Here is her most recent article.

2010 Roster, Masters Edition
We have some fabulous riders that will be focusing on masters racing for 2010. They don't look old enough to be racing "masters" but they will be looking to improve on their 3rd place finish in the 2009 Bay Area Women's Cycling Series.
Led by Tracy Lillig, the squad includes Catherine Hadsell, Vanessa Baumann, Kim Helgans, and Carol Engle. Here's a taste of what to look for....

Mark Pendleton Memorial Ride
Mark Pendleton’s family, friends and teammates would like to once again honor him by inviting all who knew Mark or would like to celebrate his life to join his team at the Danville Peet’s Coffee & Tea at 9am for a moment of reflection before setting off on a three-hour memorial ride to Sunol, the top of Calaveras and back, passing back just south of downtown Pleasanton.
See you all Sunday.
